2013 Concerts

Rob Ely and Paul Ely Smith opened the Cordelia Swedish Summer Festival on Sunday, June 23. Rob hammered the dulcimer and Paul played the gourd banjo and fiddle. Their performance was amazing with hammers sailing and strings singing; the music never sounded so good in a Swedish church.

The 2013 festival had a maypole and other traditions. We danced around the maypole with John Elwood providing a tune on his clarinet.

4 Names in a Hat performed Sunday, July 14, at the Friends of Cordelia Picnic/Concert. The barbershop harmony included folk hits from the 50s and 60s, seasoned with bluegrass and traditions of the Kingston Trio. Members of the group were Ed Novack, Paul Hill, Orrin Iseminger and Doug Ashburn.

Gefilte Trout played a medley of traditional and new Klezmer music on Sunday, August 25.

Lindsay Street Band performed folk music from around the world on Sunday, September 8 at 2:00 pm. The Bellingham, Washington-based band created song to make you dance and sing. Band members are Jean Rogers, Robin Elwood, Liz Elton, Bryan Early and Patty Chambers.
